Easy Ways to Clear the Noise and Distractions and find Ways to Relax

How to relax on busy days and weekends for your mental health and overall well-being. Use simple tools like NSDR, Yoga and...

We are living in a world of constant distraction. Something or the other is always taking up our attention and mind space - be it work, family, social media, or the never-ending stream of notifications.  Doing this day in and day out with little rest or sleep, a bad lifestyle leads to overstimulated minds and exhausted bodies that become numb, anxious and on the verge of panic.

All this sounds very relatable, and more often than not, we know that this is happening. But we do not know how to break this circle. How to make our day less taxing for our body and mind. Honestly, it seems like a herculean task after how our days are, but it’s the simple things and small habits that ultimately lead to big changes.

Coral and Sky wants to be a self-care brand rather than just another personal care brand. There is nothing personal or connecting or even healing or rejuvenating in most of the brands we use today. We spend a lot on our comfort food and talk about food for the soul, but we do not spend on things we put on our skin,  that have such an impact on our mind and soul and so many times enter directly our blood stream.

So if you also want to make little changes to find some mental peace and lead a more thoughtful life, we recommend starting small and not making another to-do list! Just read these, pick what you find easiest to incorporate, and start. Once you see how this small 2-minute ritual of your choice impacts you, pick another, and so on.

Just start with 5-10 minutes daily, preferably before you go to bed on those busy workdays when next day work scheduling is looming on you and you wish for another dopamine hit with the endless scrolling of reels ( that’s how you found us too? ;))

Daily Self-care

Here’s a quick guide to unwind and relax in just 5-10 minutes:

  1. Deep Breathing or NSDR : Find a quiet spot, close your eyes, and focus on slow, deep breaths. Inhale for 4 seconds, hold for 4, exhale for 6. This calms your mind and body. You can also check this Non sleep Deep Rest video
  2. Bedtime yoga: This channel has been my personal favorite and has helped me calm down on so many days. Sharing a bedtime yoga sequence that focuses on breathing.
  3. Aromatherapy: Light your favourite candle or apply a calming essential oil (always with a carrier and only a few drops). Scents like lavender or chamomile trigger relaxation. Again, we have designed candles that are the ultimate sensorial experience, pleasing to look at, with pure soy wax, and relaxing blends. We recommend soy wax candles only, not the paraffin ones, please! Check our soy wax candles collection here.

These few minutes can help you hit reset and sleep you feeling relaxed, and not get haunted or daunted while you sleep even after a busy day! 🌿✨

Weekend Self-Care in 1-2 Hours 🌿✨

Weekends should be your time to recover, restore and rejuvenate. Even if you have social obligations, want to hit the gym or run a marathon. Please find time to also relax

1. Get out and see sunlight

Your eyes need light to help set your body's internal clock. Early morning sunlight in particular seems to help people get to sleep at night. This may be more important as you age because your eyes are less able to take in light, and you're more likely to have problems going to sleep.

2. Stretch your tensed body

Our bodies are as tense as our minds, and the best way to let go and release that tension is some relaxation exercises. Check out this video that will help.

3. Aromatherapy

Use essential oil candles, soy wax candles, and our shower steamers for aromatherapy benefits while you take that yummy shower. Made with quality ingredients that are safe for you, we ensure you get the most healing benefits of aromatherapy. Hum a tune, and think of a good memory when you do so!

4. Refreshing Shower

We need to understand how important daily showers are. And how they can set a tone for a great day ahead. Unfortunately, our showers have become a chemical lab and although we are not against chemicals - there are safe synthetics and unsafe ones. As unsafe ones are always cheaper, most (really all) of the products in our shower and bath areas are drenched in low-quality chemicals like SLS, parabens, phthalates, and formaldehyde.

So we urge you to understand the importance of what goes on your skin read the labels and spend on quality products like cold process soaps, body scrubs, lotions and body moisturisers that are good for your skin and planet and avoid  plastic loofahs, soap dishes, and make your shower a healing ritual.

5. Meditation and essential oils

Once in a few weeks find time to calm your mind, focus on your breath, and spend some time with your head. Apply a few drops of your favorite essential oil (lavender for calm, citrus for energy), or use a diffuser to fill your space with natural, soothing aromas.

This routine is designed to help you feel completely refreshed, recharged, and ready to take on the world—naturally and with intention. 🌸

Bonus Fun Touch:

If you’ve got a little more time, pop on your favorite chill podcast or an audiobook while you sip your tea. Get lost in a good story, or listen to something that inspires you. 🧘‍♀️📖
